INFOUPNYK - On Monday (18/3/2024), the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of the National Development University "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNYK) held an External Community Service Grant Workshop in the UPNYK Rectorate Seminar Room, 5th Floor. The activity entitled "Tips for Getting Community Service Grants" was held with the aim of increasing the number of lecturers at UPNYK who successfully obtained external grants for Community Service activity proposals.

One of the main points in this workshop was the session led by the Keynote Speaker, Prof. Raden Wisnu Nurcahyo, a Professor from Gadjah Mada University (UGM). In the session, Prof. Wisnu shared his experiences and tips with lecturers at UPNYK so that they can prepare good community service proposals, and go through the stages towards submitting proposals to the Directorate of Research, Technology, and Community Service (DRTPM), Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology.

Prof. Wisnu explained that it is important to underline that community service programs must be able to present measurable and appropriate solutions. This process must be able to answer challenges before implementing the program in the community and provide solutions after community service

"The solution in the community service proposal must be measurable in quantitative terms, meaning that the conditions before and after the community service program are explained," said the Professor of Veterinary Medicine.

He also added that it is mandatory to add community elements as partners in compiling proposals for community service programs.

"Then don't forget the participation of partners, such as what, for example, residents (where community service is carried out) for example, providing time to participate, residents providing a place to execute activities," he added

This workshop was attended by a number of lecturers from various faculties at UPNYK, to gain knowledge and tips in compiling proposals, especially in the field of community service. This event is a means for them to broaden their horizons and improve their abilities in compiling relevant proposals that can answer challenges in the community.

It is hoped that through this activity, more lecturers at UPNYK will be able to obtain external grants, so that they can increase the university's contribution to community development in general.
